The weather is finally warm and perfect… even the evenings are staying warm. I love it when this season arrives, lifting off all the weight of winter and the stresses of the school year. The day lasts longer as well, which means longer hours to enjoy the birds and the cedars I now have on my patio. The kittens can chase the flies, the children are playing their games and the ice cream man keeps coming around. I love it, all the sounds of spring.
Tonight I decided to treat myself to a delicious steak on my new BBQ… with grilled zucchini and tomato slices – delicious, Ontario grown veggies. I also decided to whip out the Nikon and begin shooting the simple things in life that I’ve neglected to appreciate over the last few months. To begin my journey of getting back to my roots and inner passions, I shot my yummy steak dinner….
Grilled zucchini and spices, so delicious.
Very much enjoying the natural light, and the look of that steak ;)
Now, I love my steak borderline burnt… so as my first attempt at grilling steak, I technically failed. However, although I was unable to finish it, it still makes for a fantastic photo.
I have a lot to learn about the BBQ, as well as life. Today marks the beginning of many journeys to reconnect with myself – my passions, my dreams and my identity, and although you may look at these photos and only see food on a plate… to me it’s one step in the direction of personal freedom and learning how to express to the world how I think and see simple things in everyday life.
